July 26 through July 29, 2010 are the dates for the third “Summer Sanctus” Christian Student Camp for young people ages 13–19.
The camp is being organized by Grace Covenant Church in Nacogdoches, TX and Auburn Avenue Presbyterian Church in Monroe, LA and will meet at the air-conditioned Pineywoods Conservation Center southeast of Nacogdoches. The camp has a fully staffed kitchen and dining hall where we will share meals, a recreation center and lots of space for outdoor activities.
At Summer Sanctus the days will begin and end with psalms and prayers with a couple of Bible studies throughout the day. Students will also have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the summer days with their friends hiking, canoeing, playing games and sports or enjoying creation. On the last night of the camp, we’ll have a traditional ball with group dances and music.

Supervision and Chaperones
We desire to have at least one adult counselor for every seven students at the camp. Churches should plan to send enough adults (at least one man and one woman) to cover the number of students attending from each congregation.
Students will not be allowed to go anywhere or do anything without first checking in with their counselor and only then may they proceed with direct adult supervision. Boys and girls will not be allowed to pair off together in seclusion from the rest of the group. Every camper must be involved in sanctioned organized group activity throughout the day.

Medical Care
In case of accident or injury we will make every reasonable effort to contact the student’s parent or guardian with the information provided on the registration form. Beyond that we will take whatever action is necessary to see that the injured camper receives the medical care they require.
Medications
If a camper requires regular medication, we ask that parents provide detailed instructions (see registration form) for the administration of the medicine and it will only be taken under the supervision of a camp counselor.
Discipline Issues
In the best interest of all concerned and to promote a good camp community experience, any camper whose behavior is, in the judgment of the camp leadership, disruptive or unruly, and has not heeded any warnings, will have their parents notified of the place and time to come pick them up. Rather than provide pages upon pages of rules, we trust that we all know what it means to love God and love our neighbor – and we expect everyone to do their best to conduct themselves in a peaceful, pleasant, Christ-like manner.
Monday Arrival Procedures
Plan on arriving sometime between 1:00 and 2:00 in the afternoon on Monday, July 26th. You’ll be directed to our registration center where you’ll receive your cabin assignments for your students. Once your campers have registered and have settled into their cabins, they are free to explore the camp grounds and meet other campers until orientation in the chapel at 3:00. We request that all campers and counselors be present for orientation.
Thursday Departure Procedures
After lunch on Thursday, campers will retire to their cabins to pack and clean and prepare to depart. Campers will be required to have their cabin cleaned and inspected by camp staff before they can leave. We must all depart from the camp before 1:00 Thursday afternoon.
